Welding is the process of joining two pieces of metal together using heat. There are many different types of welding, but the four most common are:
- Arc welding – This is the most common type of welding. It uses a welding machine to create an electric arc between the two pieces of metal. This melts the metal and joins them together.
- Mig welding – Mig welding is a type of arc welding. It uses a gas-shielded mig welding gun to create the arc. This creates a more stable arc and results in a stronger weld.
- Tig welding – Tig welding is a type of arc welding that uses a tungsten electrode to create the arc. This creates a very hot, concentrated arc that can be used to weld very thin metals.
- Spot welding – Spot welding is a type of resistance welding. It uses two electrodes to create a short circuit between the two pieces of metal. This creates heat and melts the metal, joining them together.
